H1N1 REPORT FROM HEALTH UNIT ON UPCOMING AYLMER CLINICS:
1-How long should Aylmer residents expect to wait in line for Clinics?
– Residents should anticipate 1 – 1.5 hours from time of arrival until time they are ready to leave. Residents eligible for immunization will need to register, be vaccinated, and then wait about 15 minutes after vaccination before leaving. There can be waits at the registration process and at the vaccination process.
2-Is the lineup outside (and what about weather problems)?
– We are hoping to have an indoor solution and are working with operators of the EECC to determine this. We understand that there are limits as to how many can wait inside.
3-Do residents have to bring anything with them other than drivers licence and health card?
– No. It is helpful if parents bring something along to keep young children amused.
4-How much vaccine is allotted for the Aylmer clinics?
-We have reserved enough for 1000 doses each day.

***AYLMER HISTORY*** = “1875 CHRISTIANITY DEBATE IN AYLMER WENT 4 DAYS!”
Last week I came across a book being offered on “Amazon” concerning a debate held in the Old Town Hall, beginning June 29, 1875, that lasted 4 days! The speakers, reported a St.Thomas newspaper, were O A Burgess, President of NWC University, Indianapolis and B F Underwood of Boston, “an author of some distinction” and “one of the champion exponents of ‘infidel views’ on the continent” . The main topic for the debate was “The Christian religion as set forth in the Bible is true and of divine origin”. Admission was 20 cents and about 400 persons attended the opening session with attendance rising considerably as the debates continued. Moderator was WE Murray, an Aylmer banker.
