Two local women shopping at an Aylmer grocery store had their purses stolen out of their carts in separate incidents in the middle of the afternoon last Thursday.

(From The Aylmer Express Jan. 6/1910) – “The annual meeting of the Aylmer Pump and Scale Co., Water St., was held in town last week and the old board was re-elected. Included were S H Chapman of Toronto, President,  and Henry  Caven and William Glover, both of Aylmer, as Directors. Great improvements have been made in the past year, for example a new machine and the purchase of the old pork factory plant where the scales are now done. An addition is planned for the plant on Water St., 500 square feet. Aylmer has no better or no more valued an institution than this.”
