“PT. STANLEY MAN GUILTY OF ARMED ROBBERY OF AYLMER GODFATHERS PIZZA”

ST.THOMAS –  Shane Martin, 24, of Pt. Stanley, was convicted in court here last Monday on six charges resulting from an armed robbery last May at the Aylmer Godfathers Pizza. Martin pleaded guilty , among other charges, to carrying a concealed weapon (a knife) and wearing a disguise. He received 30 months penitentiary time, on top of the time spent in jail awaiting trial. A 22-year old Aylmer male is awaiting his trial from the same incident.

AYLMER POLICE REPORT:

A break-in occurred at a residence on Treadwell St. on Feb. 7 during the day while the occupant was away and with the door unlocked. No property was taken but some items suffered minor damage. The owner also reported his car had been scratched.

-An Aylmer woman reported last Tuesday that her residential business was the victim of  random cellular harassment. About 10 people received obscene text messages early in the morning directing them to phone her business as soon as possible. The owner did not know the callers. Police believe someone had tampered with a Bell Call Centre messageboard and are still investigating.

-A 32-year old Malahide male was convicted of assault on an Aylmer male from an incident in May in town and was fined $100 in St.Thomas court last week.
